Telopea strip outs and partial demolition, done properly
WasteWise Services is a family-owned contractor for owner-occupiers, landlords, strata owners and shopkeepers. We strip out Telopea kitchens, rental units and shop fit-outs, and carry out partial demolition where only part of a building has to go. We take out only what is on the scope and look after the structure that remains.
The suburb covers just 1.5 square kilometres, yet its homes are split almost evenly between houses, townhouses and apartments, and nearly half of households rent. So the person approving the work could be a homeowner, an owners corporation or a landlord’s agent. We make sure the right sign-off is in place before any tools come out.
Qualified carpenters with over 20 years of hands-on experience lead our crews. They can tell a load-bearing wall from a partition, and they know which fixings to cut and which to leave alone. That is controlled workmanship in practice, done properly and without cutting corners.
Telopea strip out, partial demolition and asbestos removal work
Pick the pieces your project needs. A homeowner might pair a kitchen strip out with a skip bin, while a landlord might book wet area removal between tenants.
Kitchen and Wet Area Removal
Benchtops, cabinets, splashbacks, tiles, vanities and shower screens taken out so your renovator starts with bare walls. Power and water are disconnected first, and the rest of the home stays usable.
Partial Demolition in Telopea
An internal partition, an old sunroom, a pergola or a carport taken down while the main house stays standing. Our carpenters support and protect the adjoining framing as each piece comes away.
Strip Outs Between Tenancies
A vacant rental is a good window to remove worn carpet, dated cupboards or a tired bathroom. We work to your agent's timeline and leave the unit tidy for the next contractor.
Shopfront Make Good Works
Small retail and office tenancies returned to the condition set out in the lease. Shelving, counters, signage and partitions come out, and the commercial space is left clean for the end of lease inspection.
Telopea Asbestos Removal
Much of the suburb's housing went up from the 1950s onward, and anything built before the late 1980s may contain asbestos containing materials. We identify them before work begins and remove them to Australian Standards.
Telopea Skip Bin Hire
Bins sized to the job for renovation waste, carpet, timber and general rubbish, with bulky items taken away by our rubbish removal crew. Placement is planned around driveways, visitor bays and strata parking rules.
What happens once you book a Telopea strip out
Each stage is confirmed in advance, so households, tenants and neighbours can plan around the schedule.
Tell us what is changing
Share photos or plans and a short description of the renovation. We then visit, look over the property and prepare a quote.
Remove, keep or check
Every item is listed as coming out, staying put or needing an asbestos check first. That list becomes the scope everyone signs off on.
Sign-off from council, strata or landlord
We confirm whether the City of Parramatta needs to approve the work, then line up owners corporation or landlord consent where it applies. Compliance is settled before the first work day.
Make it safe, then start
Power and water are isolated where required, walkways are covered and safety controls go up. Only then do our qualified carpenters begin removing fixtures, linings and fittings.

Telopea at a glance for renovators and landlords
Telopea is one of the smaller suburbs in the City of Parramatta, at about 1.5 square kilometres, and takes its name from the botanical name for the waratah. Orchards and dairy farms covered the area until the 1950s. Housing followed when the Housing Commission opened up the Dundas Valley, and a small shopping centre arrived late in that decade. With so much of the housing built from the 1950s onward, an asbestos check is a sensible first step before any strip out.
Its dwellings now divide almost evenly. The 2021 Census counted about 35 per cent separate houses, 31 per cent townhouses or semi-detached homes and 34 per cent flats or apartments, and close to half of all households were renting. In practice, a renovation here often needs landlord or owners corporation sign-off as well as the usual council checks.
The transport picture has changed as well. The Carlingford railway line closed in January 2020, and the Parramatta Light Rail opened in December 2024 with a stop in the suburb. The precinct was rezoned in 2018, and a NSW Government renewal program is progressing near that stop. Local shopping is centred on Waratah Shopping Centre in Benaud Place and the shops along Adderton Road. We work for private homeowners, landlords, strata owners and local businesses, and we manage the waste and paperwork for each job.

Questions about strip outs in Telopea
Is all of Telopea in the City of Parramatta?
Yes. The whole suburb falls under the City of Parramatta, so a single council's rules apply. We work out whether your partial demolition needs approval and handle the application where it does.
Can I strip out a rental unit in Telopea between tenants?
Yes. A vacancy is a good time to remove old carpet, cupboards or a bathroom. We confirm strata requirements, book work hours that suit the building and hand the unit back ready for the renovation trades.
Do I need strata approval to strip out a Telopea townhouse?
Often, yes. Around three in ten homes in the suburb are townhouses or semi-detached, and homes in a strata scheme have by-laws that can cover renovation work. We check those rules with your strata manager and protect shared driveways and walls.
Are 1950s homes in Telopea likely to contain asbestos?
They may. Buildings from before the late 1980s may contain asbestos containing materials, for example in eaves, wet area linings or floor coverings. We identify suspect materials before starting and remove them to Australian Standards.
Do you do make good works for shops on Adderton Road or Benaud Place?
Yes. We strip retail and office tenancies back to what the lease requires, clear the waste and leave the space ready for the landlord's end of lease inspection.
